Somebody wonderful put up every Romola Garai outfit in Glorious 39. Go over to The Butterfly Balcony and enjoy. The best thing about the clothes? The fact that the last scene in the movie involves a jaunty beret, placed just so.

Ladies of color in period dramas

When I reblogged this lovely picspam, I noticed (and notabuddhist pointed out) how white our classic period drama protagonists tend to be. This is my awkward response to that observation, a celebration of ladies of color in period dramas. (Mostly awkward because my photoshop skills are close to nil). I think all of these actresses are amazing, but I can’t vouch for the quality of all of these films/shows, as I haven’t seen all of them.
In short, hooray for women of color in our costume dramas! Please have more of them in the future.
